My Students

Our student population is economically diverse. We are attempting to reach our students via google hangouts and by doing taped lessons presented on YouTube. However, our district does not have the means to supply the preschool population with the technology to participate this way. For those families who are unable to participate in online learning, we are providing packets of activities. Many of our students are in need of adaptive scissors to work on their cutting skills. We do not have enough to supply families in need.

My Project

These scissors paired with paper and a sheet of tips from the occupational therapist will assist families in working with their children to develop essential fine motor skills for school readiness. It will help children with Individualized Education Plans work towards achieving their goals while the schools are closed.

These tools will be especially valuable for those families who do not have access to technology to allow their children to engage in online lessons with their teachers and therapists.

Students will have the tools needed to engage in hands-on practice with cutting.
