Hello! I am proud to say that I am a third-year Kindergarten teacher at an amazing charter school in Jersey City, NJ. After graduating from Rutgers Graduate School of Education with a Masters Degree in Elementary Education, I chose to join a team dedicated to teaching students of varying needs, learning styles and backgrounds. We are an inner-city start-up, charter school in its fourth year that is in desperate need of materials and support.
We want to empower our students to go further in life and be strong enough to improve their environments.
More importantly, we want them to believe that they can control their future by working hard, persevering, and bursting through any roadblocks placed in front of them!
We are devoted to fostering a strong work ethic, values, and the passion for learning, that is necessary for our students to close the achievement gap and graduate from college! I am hopeful the donations made on DonorsChoose.org will give my Kindergartners a bit of extra support as they begin their journey as lifelong learners!
My buzzing scientists and mathematicians are so full of wonder and energy to learn about the world around them! But with science experiments and exploration comes a lot of STUFF!
We need a safe place to store our math and science materials and our diverse STEM library.
We have a huge selection of book about scientists (ALL kinds of scientists, so that my students can learn about others who look just like them), numbers, outer space, the seasons, plants, animals, and any other topic they wish to explore. Our math manipulatives have a second life working as a part of our science experiment supplies - just like my student who built a windmill out of unifix cubes!
When my students learn to care for their math and science materials, they will learn to take pride in every part of being scientists. Shelves to make their tools accessible and neat will limit transition times, and leave more time for science and learning!
