My students need materials in order to engage in enriching STEM experiences. My students can complete hands-on, technology based labs and projects using STEM materials and accessories for our classroom.
My students are really special to me for many reasons. I have a wonderful group of students who come from diverse backgrounds that make them unique. Being engaged in their own learning is crucial for ensuring their success. For example, I know that they learn best through active and meaningful experiences which they can connect across the content areas and to their own experiences.
I know my students' learning style and that learning by doing is essential for them because it is so highly motivating.
Unfortunately, most of the enriching experiences my students encounter are within the school walls because my students live in high poverty situations.
My students deserve to learn in the best way possible and that is by making real world connections!
My Project
Sometimes it is hard for us to complete STEM projects due to lack of supplies. Through the donation of these materials, my students will be able to enhance their STEM experiences. My students learn best through the completion of hands-on activities. They like to create, design, and question! My students use glue sticks, masking tape, packing tape, tape dispensers, pencils, scissors, pens, clipboards and other supplies to create wonderful STEM products displaying their knowledge. The portable dry-erase board and chart paper will make for an amazing combination as students present their STEM experience knowledge to their classmates.
In my classroom, students rotate through STEM-based stations each day in order to effectively differentiate content and keep students engaged in hands-on learning.
One of these stations always involve our classroom iPads. My students would also benefit from accessories for our classroom iPad, like a case to help keep it safe, a lighting cable to project it to our Promethean board, and a clicker for students to use as they present their STEM findings on our Promethean board.
