I have the best job in the world. I teach kindergarten. I believe in making the classroom exciting, relevant, and nurturing for all who walk through my door. One of the great things about teaching kindergarten is watching the discovery process. They are learning so much when they discover what sinks and what floats, when they continually pour sand over a water wheel while viewing it from different directions to see how it works, when they watch with amazement how the water changes color by adding a small drop of another color (or all brown when they mix too many colors!), discovering a little water will make great molds of sand and a lot of water only makes %u2018soup%u2019, even discovering how to make dams and lakes. I moved to a different school this year and unfortunately there are no sand or water tables for the classroom. While some may consider this just %u2018play%u2019 we know it is early development for discovering how things work and the beginning sparkle for our future scientists and engineers. I would love to get a sand and water table for the 20 students in my classroom. Thank you for considering this proposal.
