My students need hands-on materials for our many of our Science Labs. They need plastic magnifiers, plastic medicine droppers, Exploring Earth Space Books, petri dishes, and thermometers.
My students love learning and really get excited when we are able to do experiments and investigations through hands-on experiences. I have a Science Experiment Center in my classroom, but we do not have enough hands on materials. My hope for my students is to engage them in hands on investigation
My students are ambitious and inquisitive with a love for learning.
They enjoy a challenge, and I provide many opportunities for students to engage in projects, experiments, and investigation. My class is designed for project learning, and working together cooperatively. I teach in a small public charter school, and we are often lacking the equipment and materials needed for extension of our learning. My class is in need of Science supplies and hands-on materials in order to develop higher level thinking skills.
My Project
My students will use the the Science materials and supplies that I am requesting to provide help with our Science Labs. We will use the magnifiers for many things such as investigating plants, animals, and cells. We will use medicine droppers in to transfer liquids from one place to another, as well as to drop liquids into solutions or onto surfaces. The thermometers will be used to measure the temperature of the air, our bodies, and food for example. The Third Planet: Exploring Earth from Space Book will help my class learn about the solar system, planets and space exploration. The listed materials and equipment will allow students to work in small groups when conducting experiments as well as sharing information with each other. By using the materials and supplies, my students will be able to expand their knowledge base in regards to Science Labs.
