Scientists and Stories

Help me give my students a classroom library geared toward science and exploration!

My Project

My fantastic middle school students need books that reflect who they are and who they can be in the world of science. Our classroom library has a small variety of science fiction and needs a multicultural infusion of non- fiction.

My students are a diverse group of science explorers looking for examples of representation and opportunity for inspiration.

My inner- city students do not often see themselves represented in STEM topics. Building a classroom set of non-fiction books on diverse subjects will give my students the opportunity to see themselves in the scientists and forward thinkers of yesterday. Enriching our studies with those stories will help them envision themselves as the leaders of tomorrow and open a door to new possibilties.
