This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Do you remember what it was like the first time you completed a science experiment or went shopping on your own? "I think, therefore I am!" This is the motto used in our classroom. Help my students become brilliant scientists and mathematicians.
My students come from inner city homes and have not been introduced to much science and lack basic math skills.
They are eager to learn and become awesome scientists and mathematicians. These students attend an inner city public school and are working hard to make improvements in their academic lives.
My Project
My students participate in academic clubs everyday for 30 minutes. During this time the students work on skills they have not yet mastered and are offered more one on one attention. These math and science materials will help students reinforce what they have previously learned while bringing a little fun and cooperative learning into the mix. The mall math and neighborhood math activity kits will help my students to enhance their math skills using real world math problems while making the learning fun and connecting to real-world experiences. In addition, my students need daily science activities and quick checks to reinforce their learning while adding fun to the learning experience.
These materials are so important to my students.
My students work hard each and everyday. We are always looking for new, fun and exciting ways to reach the students and these activities will definitely help! These activities bring real world connections to the classroom while still providing a fun way to enrich to their math and science skills.
