Currently, like so many other students across the world, my students are learning from home. Some of them do not have access to computers or internet, while others do. I have been fortunate enough to have the ability to create paper packets as well as online learning materials for my students. Many of my students games, and various hands-on learning activities that will help them continue learning throughout the summer months. So many of my students' parents are still working in order to be able to provide their family with the basic necessities of life. I hope to ease a little bit of the burden by providing some engaging learning activities.
My Project
I am asking for items that I can give to my students that will provide them with fun, hands-on learning opportunities to learn about concepts like states of matter, wind, and other fun science curriculum. The popsicle molds will be used to teach about states of matter, the Kinetic Sand being requested will be used to encourage students to investigate the difference between regular sand and the kinetic sand. I am asking for watercolors and watercolor paper, because I hope to encourage my students to continue being creative while they are "stuck" at home. While we were IN school, they loved art and always asked about painting. The jump ropes and water squirters are being requested, because everyone will want to be outside playing, at least that is my hope. These two fun outdoor activities will encourage outdoor play among my students. Finally I am asking for soil pellets so the kids can grow the seeds I have purchased for them and learn about the plant life cycle.
