My Students

My class is a group of bright, inquisitive, and caring little friends. We have been together for more than 100 days now and every day they impress me with their kindness and smarts. Many of them come from immigrant families, and they have limited exposure to literature and educational toys at home, yet their curiosity and wonder makes them eager to learn and engage while at school. Despite all the hardships they endure, my class is enthusiastic, persistent and fun!

My Project

I have chosen some Lego sets and books about the solar system for my class because they themselves have expressed that they wish to learn more about Science, especially engineering and the solar system. Many of them love to play with Legos at home, but in school we use them to learn more about engineering and architecture. We will use these Lego sets to explore more about pushes and pulls, how to make structures more sturdy and able to bear more weight. We will use the solar system books to learn more about our own Earth, the Solar System and the Universe beyond!
