My Students

My students are eager learners who need hands-on experiences to master abstract concepts. Inquiry is the standard in our class. Making mistakes and problem-solving are key elements of the day. Hands-on learning is exciting for children. Developing an understanding of the world through questioning will make my students problem solvers in the future. Poverty should not prevent inquiring minds from experiencing science and math the way it is meant to be experienced; hands-on! Give the gift of experience and inquiry.

My Project

I am asking for student-friendly reference materials to use in my classroom. The scienesaurus is a comprehensive reference tool that is divided into the major branches of science. Each section offers in-depth explanations of complex topics. Great visuals to help hook students interests.

Although we live in a technology-driven society, students still need to be able to navigate how to find useful information using hard reference materials.

I plan on incorporating these materials into several vocabulary stations to help students learn content-specific vocabulary. These materials can also be utilized individually by students to help them answer individual questions that may arise in class.
