"Science World" is a Scholastic magazine for middle schoolers. It is written on their level and of very high interest to middle schoolers. The students would receive 14 bi-weekly issues to read during D.E.A.R. (drop everything and read,) discuss in science class, share with their family as science homework, and keep or pass on to their friends. Our school does not have a PTA. We don't have a lot of science text books to risk sending them home and possible misplacement by students or siblings. The school is a small public alternative school for students that struggle in the traditional school setting. The magazine fits into the standard course of study for middle schoolers, has articles on the latest discoveries, hands on projects/activities as well as great pictures, graphs, maps and charts. The few samples that scholastic sends me are gobbled up by the students. Therefore I believe the students would enjoy and learn from the "Science World" magazines.
