I work with a bright, high-energy group of students. These kids are from the North Woods and love the outdoors, especially the lakes, rivers, and forests that surround us.
Our district motto is to ACHIEVE, and my class does that daily through academics, character, and behavior.
My classroom is approximately 30% Native American. I am continually impressed at how motivated my students are when it comes to their learning. They are always up for a good challenge and exceed expectations!
My Project
Science themes and nonfiction books are an important resource to get students excited about learning. The skills needed to read nonfiction are important as students go through school. These books can also be used as quality research books. I could use these books for independent reading or small group instruction.
Seymour Simon is an exceptional nonfiction author that writes about a variety of science topics.
These books will get encourage my young readers to explore and understand the world around them.
These books will also correlate with our reading curriculum since we explore Seymour Simon's book Weather in one of our units.
