Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a group of kindergarten children who are true superheroes (the theme of my class which they absolutely love). They have so much energy, motivation, and love for learning. I like to provide them with hands-on experiences which gives them tons of opportunities to talk, read and write about.
My kindergarten superheroes look forward to and are very engaged during science and STEM activities.
Therefore, I strive to provide them with these opportunities so that they can gain confidence as problem solvers. It's important to me that I provide my students with a great learning experience so that they will love coming to school this year and beyond.
My Project
I will be using the Science Habitat to help teach many science topics. In addition to reading, kindergarteners need experiences that include being able to observe and interact with what they read about. It will be used to teach life science as a habitat for ladybugs, butterflies, polliwogs, and even grasshoppers. The kindergarteners will also be able to use the science habitat to plant seeds and learn about the growth of plants. In addition, they will be able to engage in science and/or STEM activities and experiments such as float and sink, the water cycle, and so much more that they may be curious about.
My kindergarten superheroes will become confident scientists as their curiosity and interest in science will be truly sparked through the many possible uses of the science habitat.
They look forward to engaging science activities. They would be so excited and motivated if this science habitat was delivered to our class. My special superheroes are so deserving since they are the kindest and most loving children!
