This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
I teach in a Title I school, that is high poverty in Georgia. The majority of the students in my class are repeating Kindergarten for the second time. They have high needs.
My children love science. We have raised butterflies, watched the leaves change colors, grown seeds and explored our school yard. They really do enjoy learning about our world. Their minds are full of curiosity. Fourteen of my eighteen students are boys. They enjoy anything scientific.
I am requesting supplies to help the students explore rocks, plants, classification, force and motion. Magnifiers will help up explore all the treasures we bring into the class. The books will help me teach in an engaging way.
Hopefully, if you have read this far, you like science also. Schools are very worried about reading and math success, Honestly, science has less time and fewer resources allocated to it than in the past. These resources will make it easy for me inspire the natural curiosity of the children. Thank you for considering helping us grow and bloom.
