Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are from Norman, Oklahoma, the home of the Sooners, and they attend a Title 1 school. They are kind, smart and curious about everything around them. They love to learn and always want to try new things. My students would be over joyed to receive science supplies.

My Project

These microscopes will help my students investigate the things they cannot see with their naked eye. It is my hope that student's exposure to this technology will spark an interest in STEM, or the possibly of science as a career. The beakers will elevate our experiments, making it easier for students to measure the substances they are testing. Currently we have been using plastic cups with the needed measurements drawn on with a sharpie. For many of my students, science is their happy place and the thing that they look forward to during the school day.
