My students need this habitat to provide a home for the soils, plants and animals we will study throughout the year as we climb the mountain to college!
This project expired on April 17, 2011.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students are learning the fundamentals of science- many of them in their second language! A classroom habitat will be a incredible learning tool allowing them to connect with the natural world.
They are only in kindergarten, but are already climbing the mountain to college by learning the academic skills, character traits and intellectual habits they need to graduate from a four year college or university.
These students are some of the hardest working kids in Austin, TX; attending kindergarten from 7:30 in the morning until 4:30 in the afternoon- 9 hours a day!
This habitat will bring nature into the classroom and will allow for long term projects studying plants, animals and soil. Students will see the interconnectedness of the our ecosystem by witnessing first-hand how the plants, soil and animals interact, grow and change.
By donating, you are opening a window for these 44 students to study the natural world that would otherwise be closed to them.
We have science everyday. Most schools are cutting science to make room for studying for state tests. My students will meet or exceed all these tests- and have a deep knowledge of science concepts. This habitat will help make that happen.
