My curious students are hungry for knowledge.

They are constantly asking questions and trying to explain their thinking. As an educator, I am thrilled with their inquisitive minds, and I respond by trying to provide an activity or lab that would set them up to answer their question. My students are constantly explaining their thinking. We also come from diverse backgrounds. We make up the entire spectrum of race and ethnicity. Financially, sixty-eight percent of my students receive free or reduced lunch.

My Project

In the changing world today, data and technology are very important. Businesses and organizations are continually showing growth, loss, and change with data. Imagine as if you were constantly showing your graph by sketching out the lines, labeling the x and y axis, and numbering each x and y axis, and plotting your points. As you can imagine, this "busy" work takes a long time. Therefore, I am requesting a Calculator Based Lab, which can measure motion, temperature, light, sound, pH, force, and much more with sensors. This information is quickly converted into a graph and students can quickly see the patterns and make conclusions to their question.

Although these calculators save much instructional time, I believe it is equally important for students to experience technology.

It is important that students are doing hands-on experiments; however, it is becoming more important that students can use technology to inquire and communicate results. Please help us become a 21st century classroom!
