Technology will enhance their understanding of science, math, english and social studies. Students will make practice literacy skills through explorations in science with the star projector and roots water fish tank. They will access new information by utilizing the portable projector.
My students will be entering third grade and are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
These students and their peers in the school come from low income backgrounds. My primary purpose as an educator is to prepare them for their future by exposing them to different medias that they should have access to, as they are smart in their own ways.
Students will be able to explore scientific literacy by using the star projector and roots fish tank. To access new information about the word, students will use the portable projector. These tools will allow us to practice these skills. They will be reinforced using velcroed laminated worksheets, construction paper activities. They will be organized in storage bin containers throughout the classroom, for each student.
My Project
As a former science teacher, I intend to heavily integrate science into our literacy and math curriculum. Students will be able to practice life skills as they use the hydroponic garden/fish tank in the classroom. The projector and printer will be used to enhance their understanding of the NYS & Common Core curriculum.
Their skills will be reinforced with velcroed laminated worksheets that are organized throughout the room. Students learn best when they make real life connections to the content that they are exposed to. I intend to make every lesson an experience with the tools that I am requesting for my students.
My future students are individually smart and capable of things that we may not be capably of doing.
By exposing my students to different medias, I intend to find, support and strengthen their individual abilities. My purpose is to prepare them for their future, to ensure that they are on the track to as much independence as they can achieve.
