A typical day in Environmental Science is fast paced, to say the least. I have students sharing books to help each other, watching videos to gain as much knowledge as they can, and then everyone is trying to learning about our universe by looking at pictures, just plain old pictures
My class is a diverse group of young adults.
Our school is a high poverty school and my goal by the end of the year is to provide these students with the needed education they desire. My biggest challenge is getting the materials they need to learn in this class. These students are freshmen for the most part, so they are so eager to learn. I am eager to provide them with every opportunity that I can. These students would do anything to learn more about the environment and the universe, yet all I can provide them are videos and pictures.
My Project
This project will provide my students with the pens, dry erase paper, paper clips, duct tape, disinfecting spray, balloons, foam trays, and paper towels to use daily in the classroom. These items will be used to set up labs and group activities which will allow the students to grow by using critical thinking and collaborative learning. My students need the disinfecting spray to cleanup after our hands on labs. The pens are needed for the student center to help those students who don't have any to use in the classroom. The pens, paper clips, and dry erase paper will be used for students to complete group learning activities. The foam trays, duct tape, and balloons will be used to construct models of land forms.
Your donation to this project can only increase the students' learning and mastering the objectives.
Sparking an interest in science that they will carry with them for a lifetime is the ultimate goal. These items in this project will not only touch the lives of my current students, but the lives of the upcoming students since these items can be used for multiple years
