Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from low socioeconomic households. Many of them rent rooms or apartments with multiple families. All of my students are second language learners. My school has 100% free breakfast, brunch, and lunch.
My students are so excited and enthusiastic about coming to school to learn.
They eagerly read books and discuss them with classmates. Writing is done every day, and they love to share out in the author's chair. We need more resources so that students can get to grade level.
My Project
These materials will help make a difference in my students' learning by having science work stations available. I taught 2nd grade last year, so I am asking for 3rd grade materials so students learn their current grade level standards. Match & Sort Science Quickies will help make a great science station for students to grab a pouch and do work independently, while learning and while I'm doing small group instruction. Students will be able to learn about the various life cycles while reading and learning about science. The physical science poster pack will help reinforce students' learning by having what we've learned posted on the wall.
