My Students

Our students are English Language Learners from countries all over the world! Most are refugee students that have gone through some traumatic situations in their home country. Nevertheless, they come to school eager to learn and ready to experience new things.

We want to create lasting memories in our students by exposing them to new and exciting learning opportunities that they otherwise would be unable to experience outside of school.

Only a handful of students have had the opportunity of going to a museum or the Zoo. School field trips are great opportunities for extending students' learning outside of the classroom.

My Project

A field trip to the Science Center will expand our student's background knowledge about the many fields of science. Depending on the grade level, we will focus on the activities that address our essential science standards. Our goal is for students to have a hands-on learning approach to a science concept, so they can apply it to their science experiments back at school.

This field trip will not only be educational, but it will be a fun and memorable lasting experience that will help form them into lifelong learners.

Because the majority of our students are either refugees or immigrants, they have never before been on a field trip; let alone the Science Center.
