This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The majority of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch. A nearby trailer park is the home to the majority of my students. I see myself in my students and strive to help them take their future in their hands. Life with a limited income can be challenging for anyone, but especially for elementary students.

I teach my students that the key to breaking the cycle is education.

Education is what helped me change my life and the future of my family.

My Project

I currently purchase some plant stools that sadly do not last the entire school year. I am blessed to teach 42 students the wonderful subject of science.

Students enjoy the responsibility of having flexible seating and I would like to expand beyond plants stools to actual wobble stools.

The plant stools are not sturdy enough to last the entire school year. Flexible seating is beneficial for many reasons. Each class has a couple of students who have difficulty focusing and alternative seating helps students be productive. Wobble stools will help our science class be even more productive. Thank for believing in us.
