My Students

I teach science to a diverse group of 119 sixth graders. They come from a variety of different backgrounds. Each one is unique and beautiful in their own way. Over half of our students receive free or reduced lunch.

They are full of curiosity and love to explore and learn new things.

Science is both exciting and challenging to them. They are truly an amazing group! My goal is to provide them with the tools they need to be successful. They are our future!

My Project

Many of the chairs in my classroom are either broken or damaged in some way. Many of my students also deal with hyperactivity or anxiety of some form. Sixth grade students are always "on the go" in general. Sitting in their chairs and focusing can sometimes be a challenge. This can be even more difficult for them when they do not have comfortable seating. We also do not have access to lab stools for lab activities we do on a weekly basis. My students would benefit greatly from having different flexible seating options. The lab stools and computer chairs would help them stay focused and involved in their work. Your donation to our project will greatly improve our classroom learning environment. Thank you for your donation!
