Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Science should be fun and exciting, shouldn't it?!?!
I teach students with severe special needs, and I strive everyday to make science fun and interactive for them. They absolutely love learning about animals, plants, the human body, and many other things, but we need more hands-on materials!
All of the students in my special education life skills program are diagnosed as having an intellectual disability, autism, visual impairment, and many other disabilities.
They have a difficult time learning abstract science, so I love to bring science to them and see their little brains light up when they understand something. I absolutely have the greatest students.
My Project
In the science classroom, the kids love to learn about all kinds of concepts, but my school district does not have enough money to provide us with all the hands-on materials we need to show the kids science things that they have a difficult time understanding when we just talk about things. They love to watch videos on science concepts, but what is even better is when they can it themselves! My students do not have a lot of money to experience things like going to the zoo, so we do out best to show them these things in class! Please support out science classroom; my kids will very much appreciate it.
My kids are absolute angels and despite them all having significant disabilities, they still love to learn and participate in science class everyday.
They absolutely love school, and I strive to make class fun for them everyday. Please support our classroom--both my students and I will appreciate it more than you will ever know.
