My students need hands-on science activity centers to engage their natural curiosity and exploration of kindergarten science topics.
W. B. Yeats said, "Education is not about filling buckets, it is lighting fires." I am a kindergarten teacher and we need hands-on activities to help these students "light the fire" to engage their own natural curiosity of LOVING science.
My students are 5 years old and are natural born scientists.
While they are still young, it is easy to help light the fire and passion for loving science and exploration. We are in a public school with very large class sizes. These activities that you will be funding allow the children to break up into smaller groups to receive hands-on instruction in kindergarten science subjects.
In our future filled with technology and progress we are going to need flexible and forward thinkers. These hands-on science activity centers will help the students go through the scientific process and develop critical thinking skills. They will work in small groups on these activities and explore the subjects such as: the plant cycle, nutrition, color mixing, and magnets.
This year I have 54 students who would greatly benefit from these activities, but these materials will impact hundreds of children who walk through these kindergarten doors throughout the years.
