My students need science supplies to help them to have hands-on activities!
This project expired on October 24, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
A typical day in my classroom includes very busy, five and six year old children. Some of my students come from low-income homes. We are a small, Title One school where many of our families qualify for free or reduced lunch prices.
My students are very active and love to have hands-on activities during learning.
The faculty and staff at our school work year round to ensure the success of all of our students. It truly takes a village and our school works closely together to help every one of the students in every way possible.
These supplies will help my students to become more engaged and involved in our science activities and investigations. We need supplies for our learning of Physical Science and Life Science. We learn about everything from our five senses to completing a science fair project as a class. The What’s the Sound capsules will be used during our five senses unit to have students identify the items using only their sense of hearing. The Motion Discovery Kit will be used during our physical science unit to investigate how things move and how changing the degree of a ramp can change the speed of an object. The refrigerator will be used to house investigations such as does temperature affect plant growth and how long does it take for different liquids to reach the same temperature? Having these supplies will help my students to have the resources they need to be involved in all aspects of an investigation, especially the data collection. My students look forward to our science lessons each day and these materials will only fuel their excitement even more! I love watching our future scientists at work each day!
