Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
They're awesome :) I have a wide range of students of all backgrounds, abilities, etc. So they do make class interesting.
They make teaching fun.
Most of my students come from low income homes. To be honest, there are quite a number of people who say that our students will not succeed but they're being proved wrong all the time. The students at our school are actually good people who care about others. What more can you ask from them?
My Project
Science can often be conceptual and difficult for the students to grasp. These materials will have them personally engage in their investigations.
I want students to be able to enjoy science.
Hopefully, these materials will help them do so. I've seen students enjoy science for many reasons but I want them to experience the challenges along with the rewards. Majority of the supplies I'm requesting also allow the students to investigate on their own, instead of my simply feeding them instructions. For example, they will have to apply what they learn about gases to design an air bag for a car.
Other materials include pop beads to help visualize cell division, lab kit to investigate the origin of life, and a lab kit to investigate population genetics along with artificial selection in evolution.
