My class is a science (living environment) class in a high needs/at-risk high school. For this class, I have ninety students on my roster, all of whom are at-risk youth. Most of these students live below the poverty level, and I have at least ten students who are teen mothers. My students are at a critical time in their high school careers. My class is a Regents class, which means that at the end of the school year (in five weeks), the students will be taking a New York State Regents Examination. If they fail this exam, their chances of graduating are in jeopardy. This class is supposed to be a tenth-grade class, but I have many eleventh and twelfth graders who have repeated this class several times before. There is a Prentice Hall review book that I know would benefit them tremendously, but my school cannot afford to buy these books, despite the seriousness of this moment for the students' careers. We are in a serious situation and need to get these review books. We would need at least thirty books (a full class set) to share among the ninety students. This book will be such a help to getting my students to pass the Regents Exam and graduate. The students and I would be very grateful to you for such generosity. My students are trying hard, but most are below-grade in their reading level. This book will suit their needs. Thanks for your time and attention.
