Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are creative, smart, energetic and enthusiastic! We are a diverse community, embracing all life. No two of my students are the same, and I think that is amazing! My students love to learn and are engaged with hands-on activities. We enjoy science projects, interactive math, and read-alouds.
My students are bright, cheerful, and full of love and inspiration.
They are eager to learn and enjoy coming to school every day. I enjoy teaching them and watching their minds grow. They give me great joy to call myself their teacher.
My Project
Science is the least taught subject in the elementary grades. Given this, the classrooms are not supplied with very many resources for science lessons. I have added colorful visual aides to guide instruction, fossils for hands-on learning, stethoscope for interactive learning, and a grow lamp for easy access in the room. The visual aides provide real-life pictures and descriptions that would serve the students better than a hand-drawn picture done by myself. The fossils will give the students a better learning experience than just looking at pictures. The stethoscope will allow the students to hear their own heartbeats as well as their peers. They will also be able to hear the difference in the resting heartbeat and an active heartbeat. The grow lamp will allow us to grow our seeds in the classroom, instead of the little cups braving the elements of the outdoors.
The items in this project will help supplement instruction, guide students to be more interactive with peers, and provide opportunities to explore the world around us.
The resources will be used to their fullest extent. Students will be engaged and active in the science lessons. Students will also come to love the world of science and become masters in the subject. The teacher resources are durable and will be able to be reused for used to come.
