Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This district is a Title I district where 98% of students are economically disadvantaged. The students are bright and love to learn. I would love for them to have basic supplies needed for learning. These students work so hard, however we live in a rural area where relevance is a struggle. Having up to date information on science data could inspire these students to reach higher goals. Achievement is necessary for all students to succeed especially in the fields of science.
My Project
Students need subscriptions to SperScience and Science World for relevant up to date reading materials. Most students in this school are struggling readers and read well below grade level. Reading materials the inspire and educate will assist in the necessity of bringing all students up to grade level. Understanding grade level relevant text is critical to the success of these students. They need to be prepared for the future with up to date information. Having this information is necessary for the students succeeding in all science based endeavors. Reading is a basic skill needed to be successful in college and in life. Rural students are greatly under appreciated and overlooked.
