I am a 3rd grade teacher at a wonderful Madison County public school. Please help me inspire future scientists and doctors.
Our science curriculum is interesting but in order to teach effectively I would like to have more hands-on materials. The students learn and retain so much more with the use of visuals and actual models to manipulate during the class. In order to keep my students' attention, I need hands-on materials and visuals. With the use of these materials, questions can be explored and answered through investigation.
Students are fascinated by the human body. The intricacies of how our bodies function is a significant source of questioning and interest for students. I would be able to show the students where our bones are, how they work, nutrition, and many other fascinating discoveries.
I am requesting a set of book about the human body, x-rays, pictures of the skeleton, a velcro bones activity and a video. These resources will help the children truly "see" what their body looks like on this inside and will also help to improve their science education.
I hope this proposal will increase the interest in science, provide a visual connection to our human bodies unit, and teach students how to take care of their bodies. Students will benefit on so many levels and in many subjects. Thank you for your help and inspiring our future scientists and Doctors.
