This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are very diverse - they come from many different cultures here in Las Vegas. They work hard and strive to learn and get ahead and help each other out.

Many of my students come from other countries and are excited about new opportunities to learn and explore.

We are lacking classroom supplies to do experiments and need some equipment.

They love the chance to try different things but most cannot afford to do many things and work to help out their families. Most of them are on free/reduced-priced lunch so cannot help to contribute to classroom resources.

My Project

I have ordered an ice maker and beakers. These are materials that are needed in the science lab.

My students will learn about climate change and chemical reactions and many times ice is needed.

We do not have a refrigerator and/or freezer in the classroom so it is difficult to keep enough ice on hand to complete these labs.

A portable ice maker will allow the students to have all the ice they need for their experiments. We also do not have enough beakers, so beakers will help as well. All the different sizes can be used for different lab experiments.
