Science is Fun!

My students need Science resources such literature, DVDs, magnets, and a microscope to enhance their learning and excitement of third grade Science.

My Students

My student's enthusiasm for Science is infectious! They get inspired from reading, exploring and doing Science experiments. We are raising trout eggs, a tortoise, and planting a wheelbarrow garden, in our classroom as special projects. I love it when my students are excited about learning!

Our school is a Title 1 school with 100% of the students on free/reduce breakfast and lunch.

The after school Academy program also offers free dinner for the students. The neighborhood is an older neighborhood with family-oriented families. Our school is one of the oldest schools in the district but has been maintained fairly well. Our staff is dedicated to working cohesively with a focus towards offering the best education for our students. We recently won an award for our program we have to encourage excellent behavior expectations of our students. We have an active PTO that supports several activities for our school. A local Optimist Organization has been a wonderful support to our school for many years, as well as local businesses.

My Project

My students will be able to enrich their learning of Science by adding the literature books to support their learning of Life, Physical, and Earth Sciences. It is expected that they work on several research papers throughout the year and these resources will also help support that. The magnets and literature will help my students with their Science Fair projects that they want to work on. The students have requested a microscope to help them learn the difference between Solids, Liquids, and Gases. They also want to study different kinds of plant cells. The literature and DVDs will help them explore about our solar system.

The requested donations will go a long way to help my students gain a better understanding of Science and the world around them.

They are excited about learning which is evident by the frequent Perfect Attendance awards our class wins. I want to encourage their wonderful learning by enhancing their experience through these, much appreciated, donations. Thank you so very much for your support of my students.
