Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Help us discover & bring science into our classroom!!! We love to experiment and learn new things about science, but do not have a lot of high quality hands on materials to help us build upon our knowledge. These materials would allow us to better understand the science standards being taught.
My students are the most amazing little bunch of students you've ever met!!
Their little eyes sparkle at the idea of learning and are so anxious to discover new things. As their teacher, it is amazing to watch these little people absorb everything that is thrown their way as if they were sponges. Despite many of the challenges that they face at home: living in hotels, tumultuous households, imprisoned parents- they tend leave it at the door and are defying the the odds every day to make college for certain!!
My Project
These hands on science materials will allow my students to better grasp science standards that are being taught. Often times, my students do not have the appropriate background knowledge needed in order to conceptual understand science standards. I want to provide my students with high quality science materials that will bring genuine excitement to their learning experience. Through the use of these materials, they will discover and learn about the three stages of matter, plant and animal life cycles, five senses, and all about the weather. I will use materials throughout the classroom as science centers and plan on building them into our expository writing unit as well.
These children are our future!!
As their teacher, I need your help providing them with as many experiences possible to discover and learn. The world is at their fingertips; they just need more opportunities and materials to enhance their learning experience. My students will greatly benefit from this project and know that it will have more of an impact on their lives than you can imagine.
