Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a very diverse set of homes, some with access to a variety of technology and many with access to nothing at home.
I have many students that have a desire to further what they are learning in the classroom and a desire to try new things.
My students love learning in different ways and the internet is a great way to further and broaden their learning. Students these days are more interested in using technology to learn.
My Project
This laptop will continue in my effort to build a more updated set of laptops to use in my classroom. The laptops my students have right now are becoming outdated and slow. Logging into them is taking up precious class time that we could be using.
This laptop would help replace an older, slower laptop that is wasting class time.
My goal is to continue to build a laptop library to use in my classroom. My students use these laptops to log in to online assignments in class. The assignments my students work on with the laptops are quizzes and fill in the blank Cloze assignments. When they use the online version of the assignment it narrows down answer choices and can read the questions and answers to them as an accommodation for my special education students. I am hoping newer faster laptops will give more time in class to actually do the assignments.
