Every day, I have the joy of creating memories of success, failure, and perseverance while teaching kindergartners the joys of learning.
My kindergartners want to be the best that they can.
They are full of questions, from the iconic "Why is the sky blue?" to the question I was asked the other day, "Why do apples come in different colors?" I want my students to further their curiosity by learning how to read, write, do math, and be knowledgeable about the world.
However, my students need resources in order to be scientists and mathematicians. My classroom strives to engage ALL students so they are life-long learners.
My Project
Kindergartners are natural scientists and full of questions.
Our kindergarten curriculum is outdated and does not have materials aligned to the current new Next Generation Science standards.
The Five Senses learning center will teach my young scholars how to classify and sort unique features about our bodies.
Our physical and earth science unit will be enhanced by the weather learning center, allowing kindergartners to gain a deeper understanding of our planet.
Finally, the life cycle sequencing kit and butterfly nursery target our life science standards. Students will be able to hatch butterflies in the classroom as well as learn key vocabulary terms related to biology.
