Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My fourth and fifth-grade students have a natural curiosity about the world they live in and in everything they do and see. With these books, I am able to enhance my students' curiosity for all things science. Books such as, "Science Comics: Robots and Drones" and "Science Comics: The Brain" will enhance the print-rich environment I am creating in my classroom. Students are able to choose a book based on their interests, which will help to make independent reading more enjoyable for them. Allowing students to be able to choose the type of book they want to read gives the students confidence in their reading abilities while strengthening their reading skills through various types of resources. I want my students to enhance their willingness to learn science and have fun too.
