Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are energetic and enthusiastic 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. Their inquisitive nature makes teaching science so much fun. Although many of my students struggle with language and academics, they are determined and have a genuine desire to learn. Their faces light up during each experiment; their eyes twinkle with excitement.
An exciting science experiment transcends language and ability.
No matter which class, no matter which student, I am teaching, with the proper tools they are engaged and ready to learn. A simple demonstration can prompt a plethora of questions and lead to authentic inquiry in a matter of moments.

I am working to build up a supply of excellent resources that will serve not just this year’s students, but students for years to come.
It’s amazing how much students can learn while playing games!
The Can Do! Science Games, STEM Challenge Kits, and Coding and Science File Folder Games will provide my students so many learning opportunities. I will be able to use the games in class when we are doing science centers and also for students who finish classroom tasks early. Additionally, I have many students who choose to spend indoor recess with me instead of in the auditorium and this will give them the opportunity to have fun and learn at the same time. Finally, the after school science club will also benefit from the science games and activity kits as another opportunity for fun and learning.
