Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The majority of my students live in high, poverty areas, and also come from an economically disadvantaged and low income home. Nevertheless, they are all still committed to learning and achieving excellence despite the circumstances. My students are ready and willing to give full effort to reach their greatest potential. They strive to be successful in not only their academics, but also behavior and social emotional learning. They do so by having a commitment to our Character Traits Pledge that each student vows to be respectful, caring, have good citizenship, show fairness, and be trustworthy.
My Project
My students are eager to explore science hands-on! I would like to give them the opportunity to learn each concept through a hands-on investigation. Most materials that are needed aren't available at our school. My students are mostly kinesthetic learners, so the best way to learn is through hands-on exploring and whole brain learning. Despite not always getting the chance do to hands-on learning, my students still work hard and appreciate what we do have.
Safety goggles will be used for each hands-on investigation that we will be conducting.
We also watch different instructional videos to review concepts that have been taught, so headphones are needed. All of my students receive free lunch, and I try to provide them with a snack throughout the day as well. In the next six weeks we will cover electricity. The light and sound touch circuit will be a wonderful tool for my students to learn this concept.
Donating to this project will help my students have hands-on learning and experiences that makes science fun and interesting. I am hoping that interest will then turn into having our future leaders in Science, Technology, and Innovation!
