My students need 24 science fair project display boards, three packages of assorted colored construction paper, 1 package of 24 glue sticks, and 4 books about projects.
My class participates in the school science fair each year. My class participation is very low because many children cannot get the supplies they need to create a project. Last year I heard wonderful ideas that never became projects because of lack of materials.
I will have a class of at least 24 enthusiastic second graders this year.
Our school is a primary school located in a rural area of South Carolina consisting k-3 through second grade. We have approximately 750 students with varied backgrounds. More than half of our students receive free or reduced lunch.
My Project
I always encourage each student to complete a science fair project. Completing a science fair project is a wonderful way to apply the Scientific Process and to make science real for the students. Having the materials for each student to complete a project will be wonderful. The students will be able to work on their projects in class and at home. Every child will become more familiar with the Scientific Process while expanding his/her knowledge of science. Each student will also experience the excitement of having a project entered in the school science fair.
Your donation to my project will have a direct impact on creating excitement about science .
This project will help my second graders grow as scientists and students. You will be providing the materials to help each and every child create a successful project. It's an opportunity all children should have. I appreciate you making a science fair project a reality for my second graders.
