Help me give my students the ability to participate in the Science Fair using the same materials that are available to students from more affluent schools. Starting out with a nice display board will mean a lot.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Many of my students are very motivated but they, and their families, just do not have the financial resources for "extras". And by "extras", I do not mean frivolous or extravagant equipment and the latest technology. I mean simple things like the ability to print out their assignments and projects, or have a new 3-ring binder each year that is not torn and worn-out.
These basic items can mean the difference between stifling their motivation and creativity, versus starting the new school year off right.
My Project
Having access to the same quality materials as students from more affluent schools will make all the difference in the world to my students. I already have a color printer from a previous project. What the students need are Display Boards.
A great start would be to have nice quality Display Boards for them to present their projects on.
Good materials are a great motivator for them. Unfortunately, many of my students are unable to afford even these simple items. They have the motivation and imagination required to compete in the Science Fair. A little help with basic materials is all they need.
