Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In my classroom, I have twenty-five enthusiastic learners. We are a Title I school in a low socioeconomic neighborhood with limited resources. One hundred percent of our students receive free lunch.
The majority of my students are English Language Learners with a lot of curiosity and great ideas.
They come from hard-working families that have at least two jobs. My students need the right resources and tools to help them master the academic standards in all areas. Help us move towards success!
My Project
I am requesting SuperScience magazines in order to teach my fourth and fifth grade students Science. We need supplemental Science reading and writing materials because we have textbooks that are outdated. I want to bring the current issues that are happening all over the world and make Science more interesting. I also want to integrate technology at our centers during reading time, so students can engage on a more interesting topic. This will help motivate my students to read and write more. I have also requested notebooks so they can keep a daily journal on activities we do for Science. Please help me make this project come to life. I would like to have all of these materials by January to start our new Science unit! Thanks in advance!
