Celebrating Black History Month

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Help me give my students the chance to be and feel like scientists! My 100% poverty school district has been working to ensure our middle school students are equipped for success in class and develop the skills necessary for investigating claims, using evidence and expressing themselves through written and verbal reasoning. Many students arrive at school in need of everyday supplies, and light up when we have the resources needed for them to lift off into learning with confidence and tools to support their learning. I plan to use my materials in class to practice lab safety and encourage students to take their learning seriously during experiments and observations.

Your donation helps students become true investigators; using their science field journals and lab coats to dive deep into all our units, whether we explore Chemical Reactions, Oceans & the Atmosphere, or the Climate!

To bring my dream learning activity to life, my class needs materials to help them take notes, but also science journals and lab jackets and goggles in order to become engaged and immersed in the experiments. Our students appreciate the little things, so donations that broaden their horizons make a BIG impact! Thank you in advance from our Gators!
