Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

I am a third grade teacher who teaches all subjects, including science. I am really excited about trying new experiments in my class this year. There are several chapters and objectives in our science book that I do not cover due to not having the materials to really explain how things work. I have found in a catalog some cool experiments that my 28 students could involve their minds in. They are all hands-on types of materials that my students need. A lot of my students struggle with learning without hands-on types of experiences. I feel that these science experiments will open their minds, interests, and curiosity to how things work. This would be a wonderful idea to make a science station where the students could explore and share their ideas and thoughts with great class discussions. The items I would need in order for this exciting experience to occur would be kits with electricity, magnets, shadows, and solar time. This experience would help my students explore the world of science with hands-on experiments.
