This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"I hear, and I forget. I see, and I remember. I do, and I understand." - Chinese Proverb For the majority of my students English is their second language. My class needs to experience hands-on activities daily to grasp the content. I find unique strategies to help my students learn.

I work in a school that has many children who live in poverty.

Many of these children are learning English and desperately need visuals and manipulatives to further support their learning. I am TESOL endorsed, which means Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages. I am constantly learning strategies to support my students' needs.

My Project

I can use these manipulatives to give my students hands-on examples of various experiments. I can use the chest to give my students many visuals to represent difficult vocabulary. This chest will also allow my students to independently discover and learn with the task cards provided with the kit.

A real chest full of learning manipulatives will impact my students tremendously.

My students are very appreciative and have always valued everything in my classroom. My students fully appreciate material things in way that I can't explain. Many have very little so the littlest things are grand in their eyes!!
