Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are energetic, enthusiastic, hilarious balls of excitement. Our school is near the bustling downtown center. Our school serves 90 percent low-income students of color, with a three percent population of homeless students.
My students are always ready to come to school and are fascinated with learning about the world around them.
I feel so lucky to be able to help my students along in their growth. Their joy for learning keeps be coming back everyday and keeps me perusing my work in education.
My Project
This school year we are working on exploring and deepening our scientific knowledge through hands on arts integration. My very active class is very, very into both science and art, and they are a perfect pair together.
This year we have been solidifying our understanding of science concepts through creating art works that have scientific accuracy.
With this project, we will be creating models of pollinators and plants that need pollinators to reproduce. Paint and crayons will help us design plants that create pollen, while the chalk pastels will help us model how pollen is collected by pollinators in gardens.
