My Students

My students are a diverse group of learners located in rural far northern California. They come from many different communities to learn together at our fantastic school.

With the beauty of the forest nearby, we take every opportunity to learn outside and connect our classroom learning to the real world.

My fifth grade students are becoming increasingly independent, and are learning to take control over their own learning and needs. In my classroom, they are trained to analyze where they are, where they want to be, and what they'll need to get there. When given the tools to succeed, my students learn confidence in their own abilities.

My Project

My students love comic books and they love engaging non-fiction. What better way to combine the two than with Science Comics?

Bringing scientific topics to life with visually engaging comics encourages my students to explore their curiosity and learn about the world around them.

Science Comics are written on a variety of topics with rich, informative text combined with images that cement the content into my students' brains. I love hearing my students tell each other about something they've read in the few Science Comics we already have in class. Help me bring more engaging non-fiction into my classroom with these Science Comic books.
