Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I’m a Kindergarten teacher in a title one school, meaning that 98% of students are free or reduce lunch. The household of the majority of my students can’t afford all the materials to start a successful school year. Some of these students have no exposure to simple trips and adventures that will help expand their vocabulary and vision of the word. They are little sponges absorbing all that I can bring to the classroom through pictures, literature and nature’s walk in the patio if the school. They are always asking about how the world was made, how the animals were created, how is the moon? .. They are my reason why and I really enjoy all my hard work with them.. They are AMAZING!!
My Project
My students have little or no exposure to explore nature around them and the why? of the things that surround US!! Science us one of the subjects that makes their little minds wonder and think about the Universe and the exploration of what is in our surroundings and how and why they are here. I want to create a Science Exploration Station in my classroom were us always something going on, from the life cycles of different animals to making observation of the moon in the morning and creating by engineering structures depending our project of the month.
