Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
As we journey through the Next Generation Science Standards we are in need of some materials to create interactive learning experiences for the students.
Many of them come from low SES and do not have the funds to be able to pay a fee to be in science class.
My Project
All of these materials will aid in the students ability to understand and learn in a cooperative setting with the Happy Atoms kit. They will be able to discover on their own how atoms form molecules. They will also be exposed to news in the science world that is relevant to their lives everyday.
They will be able to manipulate and use these hands on tools to better understand the topics.
Many of my students are visual and kinestetic learners and need to be moving and doing in order to learn. These students will benefit from the hands on density cubes to test out different items and their densities. The students all learn differently and all of these tools will help to reach each and every student.
