Science Class in need of Inspiration and Restocking After COVID

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students have the exact same thirst for knowledge and science as their peers in more affluent schools. They want to learn, and they are natural-born scientists, but while we have the will, we need the way--we need supplies! We work hard to overcome our challenges. CCJS is a high-poverty (Title I) school, However, that is the only difference between my students and their more wealthy peers. My students come to me with smiles on their faces, eagerly wanting to create projects with their hand and materials.
My Project
This year we will have a classroom that needs to be restocked and ready for new standards. and I would like the students to return to a class with walls full of posters and materials at their disposal. Every years students enter my class needing various items like composition notebooks, pencils, pens and even glue. If this project gets funded my classroom will be stocked enough to unlock my students potential.
We also have new standards this year and I want to make sure we have enough supplies to partake in various Science projects.
With the acrylic paint , paint brushes and various tapes, students will be able to paint rocks that are themed around our science standards. I have added bins to this project so I can separate and clean used supplies with (with alcohol wipes) from clean supplies to protect the students from contamination during the Covid outbreak. Students will also be able to complete various STEM projects using the STEM challenge cards. The supplies needed for the STEM challenges include magnets, permanent markers and even food coloring.
After we were forced to close due to Covid-19, I had many items in a group setting that I had to get rid of. This project will restock many of those supplies plus some. We will be able to rotate out items while the used ones are properly sanitized. Using the chalk labels , I can mark items used and clean.
